Dr. Moses K. Tesi is Professor in the Department of Political Science at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, U.S.A. He is President of the Institute on African Affairs and currently editor of The Journal of African Policy Studies . His research and writings deal with politics and policy, political economy issues, environmental and resource management issues in Africa. His most recent publications are the Environment and Development in Africa by Lexington Books, 2000 , and " Africa's Environmental Challenges : Deforestation and Development", in Sub-Saharan Africa in the 1990's: Challenges to Democracy and Development , Rukhsana A. Siddiqui, (ed.)(Praeger Publishers, 1997).
