About the Journal
The Journal of African Policy Studies is an independent publication of The Institute on African Affairs concerned with global, regional, and domestic policy issues relating to Africa.
The Journal's aims are to:
- Critically and analytically assess a wide range of issues relating to African public policy.
- Publish articles and review books that are relevant to both scholars and practitioners involved in policy making and doing policy analysis relevant to Africa.
- Disseminate findings, opinions, and recommendations to the relevant audience.
The Journal is interdisciplinary in scope, including articles, review essays, and research notes dealing with all levels of public policy as they relate to Africa. These pieces may be in the form of case studies, comparative analysis, or theory construction. The main criteria for acceptance of a submission is that it be of suitable quality for a scholarly audience and that it focus on an aspect or aspects of African public policy.
